Inspired by the painting “The Birth of Venus,” by Botticelli, the Goddess Venus arrives at the shore fully grown. While my son is not fully grown, this series reflecting on birth took six years to complete, and I am now considering my role as a mother to a young boy. The baby stage of my son has now become a memory.
