The Birth
The Tabernacle Series illustrates my perspectives on femininity and motherhood. Rich in architectural grandeur, these works are highly ornate objects that express growth through symbolic elements within each. I am interested in recreating the tabernacle forms that, at first glance, appear as ancient relics but reveal their significance as religious forms upon closer inspection. I consider this iconic form's weight in history through the lens of wife, mother, sister, and daughter.
